About MK Singing Network
The concept of creating a link between all of the singing groups in Milton Keynes and District was initiated by the Education and Outreach Department of The Wavendon AllMusic Plan based at The Stables in Wavendon, Milton Keynes.
'Singing City' was launched early in 2011 after an open meeting to which leaders from singing groups throughout the community had been invited. The aims are to introduce a year-long programme of community singing events, both large and small, leading up to the Olympics in 2012.
MK Singing Network has been developed as a self-supporting group in order to facilitate some of the ideas for co-operation which were suggested by attendees at the open meetings.
This group will remain as a legacy from the Singing City concept after 2012.
