Funding
21/01/2013 09:02You will notice that we have been able to set up the web site, and start the production of a useful database, without any charge to member groups. This is due to the receipt of funds from two sources: A small 'residue' of funds from H.E.A.R. MK (Heritage, Education and Respect), which was a Community Project working alongside the Community Engagement Officers of Thames Valley Police, and recently disbanded. A generous 'Start-up' grant from The Co-operative Membership Community Fund which is intended to support community cohesion projects. Our thanks to both of these organisations to help the project team to move forward, and to MK News for publishing the news this week.
Although we intend that this service to singing groups will continue to be provided free of charge, we will need to attract some further funding to be able to continue. It has been suggested that this could be done by organising a 'Charity Concert' later in the year, with net profits being divided between MK Singing Network, and Willen Hospice. If any group, or individuals would like to comment on this suggestion, we would welcome your input.
