Drama Network: Not yet - But on the way!

Caz Tricks is a 'mover and shaker' in the world of M.K. entertainment, and particularly involved with drama and theatrical performance. She hopes to organise an 'Am Dram' network in Milton Keynes for amateur production groups, similar in nature to our own Singing Network. When this happens we will link the two together, so that the opportunity for combined workshops and/or concerts might be developed in the future.

Local radio.

Your local 'Secklow Sounds Radio' provides an opportunity for you to talk about forthcoming events, to play your own recorded music, to take part in 'tribute' show about your own group perhaps. Making Music.

The National Federation of Music Societies. The benefits of joining this society are numerous. They are a voice for music societies throughout Britain, with some political clout. They offer various courses and workshops, plus general advice in how to start, run and organise an organisation - including such things as 'Working with young people' etc. For small groups, one of the biggest advantages is that they offer Insurance at drastically reduced rates, and we all know that we need to be covered by P.L.I. when we produce concerts. info@makingmusic.org.uk or www.makingmusic.org.uk for further information.

Performance venue.

Singing in Harmony.

Liz Garnett is well-known in British Barbershop circles for her coaching and arranging expertise. She has published a number of papers on the internet offering advice on various aspects of singing in harmony, and these can be accessed at www.helpingyouharmonise.com

Sing A Cappella.

The British Contemporary A Cappella Society.  This is a National organisation for any singing group which sing songs in the unaccompanied style. They offer links to networks internationally, and have a support system for this style of music, including occasional workshops. By joining Sing A Cappella, you also have the opportunity to advertise your group nationally, and can obtain discounted rates for joining Making Music (see below!). www.singacappella.org for further details.
